Having served her apprenticeship with the firm, Sinéad qualified as a solicitor in 1991 and was a partner in our Litigation Department, dealing with all forms of civil litigation including personal injury actions. In addition she advises local authorities on compulsory purchases and judicial review, while also handling matters of employment and family law as well as procurement.
Sinéad is extremely interested in alternative dispute resolution and is a qualified mediator – providing advice to clients engaged in mediation. She acts as a mediator in a wide variety of disputes and lectures extensively on ADR. Sinead has previously served on the Arbitration and Mediation Committee of the Law Society of Ireland.
Sinéad is a lecturer and tutor with the Law Society of Ireland – as part of the Professional Practice Course in civil litigation, interviewing skills and advocacy. As part of its LL.B programme, she has also lectured in family law at the University of London.
Sinéad is co-author of the book ‘Civil Litigation’, published by Oxford University Press and has a lifelong interest in Education, recently obtaining a first class honours Master’s Degree in Public Law from NUIG.
